The 2026 World Jam Festival & Awards is to be held in the Grantham Rooms at Newby Hall, near Ripon, North Yorkshire on Sunday 27th September 2026. We must give special thanks to Mr and Mrs Richard Compton for making this happen.
In conjunction with Apple Day and the Apple Throwing Championships!
The World Jam Festival will be run in conjunction with the 2026 Apple Day at Newby Hall. Central to Apple Day is the hotly contested Apple Throwing Championships where whoever throws an Apple the furthest over the River Ure wins the prestigious title and trophy! There will also be apple pressing demonstrations, Cider tasting, a display of the many apple varieties grown in Newby Hall orchards and much more.
Where history beauty and nature meet
Newby Hall and Gardens is one of Yorkshire’s top family attractions. Originally designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1690, Newby Hall boasts some of Britain’s finest Robert Adam interiors. Inside, you'll find an exceptional collection of Chippendale furniture, Gobelins tapestries, and classical statuary.
Outside, explore 25 acres of award-winning gardens, featuring one of Europe’s longest double herbaceous borders. For a different perspective, enjoy a peaceful boat trip along the scenic River Ure.
Younger visitors will be delighted by the enchanting woodland walk, a charming miniature railway, the intricate dollhouse exhibition, and the whimsical Bear House Museum—ensuring a memorable day for the whole family.
