And still in great debt to those who helped and made the day possible. It is quite true to say ask a busy person. To Andrew and Fran Pern who's hospitality went above and beyond - on the day and before , to Gilly Robinson for her judging expertise, to Chris Bentley for keeping me sane - well nearly and at last minute to Nancy Walker who guarded the jams and brought light to the day .To our sponsors Ceramic Creations To the many, many people who entered and of course Jack who had to put up with a lot . To Kevin from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance for coming. Thanks to Ella and Angela . Thank you to everyone else who I haven't mentioned who made it all possible Now Kevin also helped set up the banner for Newby Hall which leads me on to the next exciting bit of news. Literally rolling in and some from the other side of the world as Australia is making its mark on this years awards. Another winging its way from Chile. Europe have always been competitive. Wouldnt it be lovely be able to say one from each county in the UK. And the Mad Hatter says he would then consider eating his hat. The word consider makes us all wonder. Which brings us to thinking if he ever did what would the Mad Hatter do for a hat. We will be holding a competition on the day -22nd September 2024 - for you to make "A hat fit for the Mad Hatter". All we ask is you to bring your HAT for judging with a label with all your contact details on by 12 noon on the day . There is no entry fee and there will be a prize for the best hat. So even if you dont make jam but like to be crafty get your thinking caps on to bring your hat along.. Open to all ages. To give you a few ideas of what you could come up with ....

Cant believe countdown has come around so fast. No, not to Christmas although the shops are already gearing up for it ...what an awful thought to be so prepared. We are just putting the finishing touches and arrangements to the World Jam Festival. The judges have all tasted and voted and then tasted again. Pulling the winners of each section out so Andrew Pern, our patron and Michelin starred chef could make his decision who will be this years overall winner. We have created a few random winners too from the jars we had in. Mrs Pern joined in too and so we have Mrs Perns's favourite, we have the prettiest jar and well a few more which if you come to the Festival you can see for yourself. Again it has been a fun thing to do and we are every grateful for everyone who took part. Gilly ,Adrian,Tom, Annika, Fiona and our youngest judge from New Zealand, Siobhan . Nice to get a young persons view too - not that we arent all Spring Chickens.Unfortunatey no centerians this year as George...
